Smoking a threat to life

Hello everyone and welcome,
This time I am a bit late for this post. Some time back I wrote a post on COPD of which I am a worst victim and landed up in the
ICU of a private hospital saving my life narrowly with a big cost.
The only reason of the disease is smoking.
My intention has been always to write something on health issues so that some of you may be benifited with the informations.
I am giving some some information which may enrich you with
knowledge and may also persuade you to quit smoking which
shall definitely help you in getting a healthy life for sure. I would
also request you through my blog to quit smoking as it has a far-reaching negative effect on the the smoker's life.
I think one of the main reasons-its so hard to quit smoking is
because all the benefits of quitting and all the dangers of conti-nuing seem very far away. Well, here is a little time line about
some of the more immediate effects of quitting smoking and how
that will affect your body RIGHT NOW.
1.In 20 minutes your blood pressure will drop back to normal.
2.In 8 hours the carbon monoxide ( a toxic gas) in your blood stream will drop by half, and oxygen level will return to normal.
3.In 48 hours your chance of having a heart attack will have
decreased. All nicotine will have left your body. Your sense of
taste and smell will return to normal level.
4.In 72 hours your bronchial tubes will relax, and your energy
level will increase.
5.In 2 weeks your blood circulation will increase and it will continue to improve for the next 10 weeks.
6.In 3 to 9 months coughs, wheezing and breathing problems will
dissipate as your lung capacity will increase by 10%.
7.In one year your risk of heart attack will have dropped by half.
8.In 5 years your risk of having a stroke returns to that of
nonsmokers.
9.In 10 years your risk of lung cancer will have returned to that
of nonsmokers.
10.In 15 years, your risk of heart attack will have returned to that
of nonsmokers.
So you have more immediate things to look forward to if you quit now besides just freaking out about not being able to smoke.
                                      QUIT NOW.
I would now like to conclude now with a hope to come before
you with another post. Bye and regards for my readers.
Kalyan.
